SEMI Admission for International Applicants

Applicant Qualification

Applicants must have completed high school, passed an equivalent high school standard test, or be in their final year of high school (Grade 12 in the US system or Year 13 in the British system).

Minimum Test Score Requirements

English Test

  • TOEFL (Internet-based) not lower than 80 or
  • IELTS not lower than 6.0 or
  • CU-TEP not lower than 80 or
  • Duolingo English Test not lower than 105 or
  • Gaokao English not lower than 100

Applicants who graduated from International Accredited Schools in Thailand or studied abroad in which English is a primary language of instruction for at least two academic years will be exempted. However, they will need to provide official confirmation from the institution where they completed their degree that the medium of instruction was in English. The certificate of the English curriculum will be equivalent to a passing score.

Mathematics Test

  • SAT (Math) not lower than 620 or
  • CU-AAT (Math) not lower than 480 or
  • A Level (Mathematics) not lower than B or
  • A Level (Mathematics) Predicted Grade not lower than A or
  • IB (Mathematics) HL not lower than 6 or
  • IB (Mathematics) HL Predicted Grade not lower than 6 or
  • ACT (Math) not lower than 26 or
  • AP Calculus (AB or BC) not lower than 4 or
  • Gaokao Math not lower than 90 

Science Test

  • CU-ATS (Physics) not lower than 400 or
  • A Level (Physics) not lower than B or
  • A Level (Physics) Predicted Grade not lower than A or
  • IB (Physics) HL not lower than 6 or
  • IB (Physics) HL  Predicted Grade not lower than 6 or
  • ACT (Science) not lower than 25 or
  • AP Physics (1 or C) not lower than 4 or
  • Gaokao Physics not lower than 60

Note

    1. The college code for submitting SAT scores is 6806 – CHULALONGKORN U INTERNATIONAL SCHL OF ENGINEERING.
    2. The college code for submitting ACT scores is 3033 – Chulalongkorn University.
    3. The official score report of the tests is valid only when the tests were taken up to two years before the application deadline.
    4. Applicants who submit A Level or IB scores must submit the most recent scores. If applicants have already received A Level or IB scores, they will not be able to submit the predicted grades. Applicants who submit the predicted grades must also submit the real test scores by the deadline.

Note: The second round of application will take place on the condition that the announced number of admitted applicants is not met in the first round.

Application Process

  1. Complete the application form at https://admission.ise.eng.chula.ac.th/Inter
  2. Validate the form data by clicking “save” and then “submit” the form (Applicants cannot make any change after the form has been submitted).
  3. Scan and upload the pdf files of certified copies of required documents through the application website.
  4. Pay the application fee of 1,000 baht through the application website.

Evaluation Criteria

We will evaluate the applicants based on the following criteria.

  • Accumulated GPA (GPAX) 7.5 %
  • English Proficiency Test Scores 20 %
  • Mathematics Proficiency Test Scores 32.5 %
  • Science Proficiency Test Scores 40 %

In addition, applicants must pass the interview conducted in English.
