ELECTRICAL ENGNIEERING ON-LINE SEMINAR (Seminar #4) “Battery Management System for EV”

We would like to invite students, faculty members, and interested people to participate in ELECTRICAL ENGNIEERING ON-LINE SEMINAR (Seminar #4) “Battery Management System for EV” on Friday, 10 February 2023 at 2:00 PM (Thailand Time)
Abstract: Lithium batteries are the most popular energy storage used in electric vehicles which is the main component of electric vehicles. The range of an electric vehicle depends on the energy capacity of the battery. As a result, the battery is a high-value component as well. Therefore, the battery management system for electric vehicles needs to be developed to have the ability to learn the behavior of the battery in order to preserve and prolong the life of the battery for a long time. In addition, it must be able to prevent various malfunctions that has a hazardous effect on the battery and users. The main objectives function of the battery management system is monitors battery voltage, current and temperature. to prevent overcharging, over-discharging and over-temperature (Thermal runaway), which causes deterioration of the battery. In addition, the battery management system must be able to communicate with various external devices such as vehicle control unit (VCU) and battery chargers etc.
